When you visit a restaurant, a dry cleaner, a grocery store, or a doctor’s office, the individuals at the front desk, the cash register, or serving your food can turn an ordinary visit into an extraordinary experience. Their friendliness, knowledge, and customer service can make all the difference. This Labor Day, we’re incredibly grateful for our employees who embody this spirit day in and day out. Their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to excellence are unparalleled, and we can’t celebrate them enough. What truly makes our team exceptional is the intentional effort we put into both recruiting and training. When we hire employees, we find incredible people and place them in a program designed to help them flourish personally and professionally. Our approach includes setting clear short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals, which provides our team with the tools and support they need to succeed in every aspect of their lives. Our team members work closely with our dream manager, someone dedicated to helping them map out and achieve their goals, whether advancing in their careers here at Moxie, improving their well-being, or achieving personal goals. We’ve built a culture that prioritizes growth, not just for the business but for everyone involved. By focusing on individual aspirations and aligning them with our collective goals, we’ve created a workplace where people can thrive. The result is a skilled team genuinely engaged and motivated to bring their best selves to every interaction. It really works! We’re incredibly proud of our culture, but what we’re most proud of is the team that brings it to life. It’s easy to talk about values like excellence, dedication, and customer service, but it’s another thing to see those values in action every day. Our team members don’t just show up; they lead with heart, determination, and a sense of pride in their work. They understand that the little things — a warm smile, a friendly greeting, or going the extra mile — can have a significant impact. They’re the reason customers return and the foundation for our success. Here’s to them! THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE Celebrating Our Team’s Unparalleled Dedication
An important day on the calendar in September is the International Day of Charity on Sept. 5. Being charitable and supporting causes that matter to you is a way to make a real difference in the world. At Moxie, we believe in giving back, which is why every year, we proudly support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Suicide is a heartbreaking reality that affects countless lives, and we’re committed to helping raise awareness and funding so more people can receive the support they need. By contributing to this cause, we hope to be part of a larger movement that saves lives and prevents tragedies. However, charity isn’t just about money — it’s also about dedicating your time, thoughts, and resources to causes that resonate with you. Whether you volunteer, donate, or simply spread
awareness, your actions have the power to create positive change!

Score Big With Kid- Friendly Tailgates
If you plan to have kids at your tailgate, you need to ensure they have everything they need to have fun. Here are a few ways you can help your kids make the most of their day at the tailgate! Bring kid-friendly snacks and drinks. The average tailgate lasts a few hours, and most people enjoy at least one meal during that time frame. While most tailgate foods are simple appetizers and easy-to-make dishes, ask your kids or any kids attending if they want anything specific. Fill one of your coolers with sliced fruit and juice boxes to ensure your kids have a healthy food option and child-friendly drinks. Plan a few different activities. Your kids will get bored if there’s nothing to do at the tailgate besides listening to pregame coverage and talking to others. Invest in cornhole boards or other games,
and see if someone in your group is comfortable with face painting. It doesn’t have to be extensive, but having a few kid-friendly activities prepared will keep boredom at bay. Encourage your kids to show support for their team. Whether you’re a fan of the home or away team, you and your kids should wear the right colors to show your support. Let your kids pick out a shirt, jersey, hat, or other team-affiliated apparel to help them get involved. Finally, don’t forget about your child’s need for a nap. Be sure to bring pillows and a blanket for them, and set up a comfortable spot for them to rest when needed. Doing so will allow everyone to enjoy the upcoming game to the fullest.
Football season is underway, and many Americans will start spending their Saturdays and Sundays tailgating in stadium parking lots. It doesn’t matter if you’re going to an NFL or college game; tailgating is a great way to spend time with your friends and family before the big game. While many tailgates consist of adult activities like drinking alcohol and blasting loud music, many prefer to make it a family affair.

INSIDER OF THE MONTH Caitie’s Journey to Empowered Gym Ownership
Meet Caitie, the proud owner of Empowered Lifestyle Training & Nutrition. She’s a Mesa native, born and raised, who went from a Stapley Sabercat to a Mountain View Toro and finally graduated as an ASU Devil. Caitie is a pro-women’s physique bodybuilder, a mom to three pit bulls, a girlfriend to the coolest guy in town, and a coach trying to show people that this isn’t a 60-day fad diet; it’s a lifestyle.
Caitie started in the fitness industry at 16, working in child care at Mountainside Fitness. She eventually left 10 years later as a General Manager to branch out as a trainer and gym owner. She opened Empowered in March 2020 — impeccable timing, but she weathered it. The gym specializes in private one-on-one personal training, small group strength classes, total-body boot camp classes, nutrition coaching, and gym memberships for those who are over the big box gym chaos. Empowered also offers online training/programs for those who are not in Arizona or are too far away to make it to our training and classes.
Tips to Maintain Weed Control Between Treatments
Mulching: Apply a thick layer of mulch in garden beds and around plants to suppress weed growth and retain soil moisture. Hand Weeding: Regularly inspect your yard and pull weeds before they can spread seeds. Proper Watering: Water your lawn and garden appropriately to strengthen desired plants and make it more difficult for weeds to thrive.
