What Did the Spirit Say?

and suffer reproach, be- cause we trust in the liv- ing God, who is the Savior of all men, spe- cially of those that be- lieve” to trust and obey. “These things com- mand and teach. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in char- ity (26-‘agape’ perfect love), in spirit, in faith, in purity. ‘Til I come, give attendance (diligence) to reading (the Scriptures), to exhortation, to (accu-

What is the Spirit saying to all churches? Since we all have ears, does not mean we all hear what the Spirit is saying? So, choose to hear the Spirit’s still, small voice. First, He says to every church, “I know thy works.” We cannot ever es- cape the eye of God! Second,

we are no longer zealous, fully committed to our God as we used to be. Third, there are many who name the name of Christ and believe they live, but are dead, unsaved Christians! They are listening to their father the devil, facing the second death! Fourth, many have embraced false pastors and teachers that have seduced some to lust after and sacrifice to the idols of this world. Fifth, there are many that are casting stumbling blocks before others out of ignorance, be- cause they have seared their conscience by justifying the shifting of their faith to the gods of this world! Sixth, yes there are some who are still faithful to their limited knowledge of the Scriptures. But with each subsequent generation there are fewer and fewer that are true to every word of God, by which we must live as Jesus states in Matthew 4:4. In I Timothy 4:1-2, the Apostle Paul states, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to se- ducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.” Does this not speak of today? Also in Matthew 7:15-23 Jesus states, “Beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep’s clothing (no doubt prevalent in our churches today), but inwardly they are ravening wolves (and don’t even know it)… Not every one that sayeth unto Me, ‘’Lord, Lord,’ shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not proph- esied in Thy name? And in Thy name have cast out devils? And in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye workers of iniquity.” In Mark 13:19-20 Jesus states, “For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s (1588 — those chosen out), whom He hath chosen (for a purpose based upon one’s heart), He hath shortened the days.” In the meantime Paul encourages us in our faith (I Timothy 4:8-16), “for… godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we both labor

Jeremiah 17:9, “who can know it?” Jesus continues in John 10:28-30, “Neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.” Nobody can take one’s salvation away from them — if the Father has forgiven them, they are forgiven! For “My father, which gave them (to) Me, (by honoring My redemptive work has for- given those who repent (Luke 24:47), and by faith be- lieve, trust, and obey) is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and My Father are One” in truth and purpose. This is our greatest and only security if we, of our free will, com- mit ourselves to the two greatest of the command- ments as Jesus states in Matthew 22:37-40: “Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. On the two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” None of the commandments or the prophets are done away with; for everything we chose to do in keeping the law is defined by these first two greatest. Jesus also said in John 13:34-35; “A new command- ment I give to you (not to take the place of the old, but in addition to), that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love (26-‘agape’ perfect love) one to another.” How can we say we are spiritual when we do not emulate the character of God, while some even take to themselves, in vain the name of “Christian;” and by doing so have caused the world to blaspheme the name of Christ? The Scriptures make it very clear our greatest problem is the constant shifting of our faith!

rate biblical) doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee… Meditate upon these things: give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. (“That they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16). Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them; for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” From this study, it is certain that salvation has all to do with the choices one makes from the heart, and also makes repentance, as Jesus states in Luke 24:47, a necessary part of salvation. Compassion and mercy compels one to pay the ransom, making forgiveness just, thereby setting the guilty one free. “Thus it behooved (1163 — as a necessary obligation, compelled) Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and (forgiveness) of sins should be preached in His name among all na- tions” (Luke 24:46-47). “And without (the) shedding of blood (to satisfy the death penalty, there is no (for- giveness of sin)” (Hebrews 9:22). Even though Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “Let your con- versation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have for (God) hath said, ‘I will never leave thee, not forsake thee.’ So that we may boldly say, ‘The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.’” And John 10:27-30 also states, “My sheep (those who chose by faith to believe, trust, and obey My every word) hear My voice, and I know them, and they (of their own choice) follow Me: And I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish.” This does not by any means take away our free will, but it does show the fact that God knows our works

that come from a pure heart, even when we don’t, as stated in
