Michel Luc Bellemare expose ses toiles au Centre d’Art Shenkman, à Orléans, à la Galerie Lalonde-Doyle, jusqu’au 1 er février. L’exposition, intitulée Point/Contre- Point, se veut un hommage à deux grands artistes, Matisse et Picasso. M. Bellemare désire mettre en avant leur travail par une exposition qui se veut contemporaine de ce qui est possible et de ce qui peut être fait après 60 ans de peinture d’abstraction pure. «L’abstraction critique est une appli- cation pratique des leçons et de la théorie en couleur de Matisse et les mouvements d’abstraction expressionnismes, a expliqué le peintre. Winter driving warning Sub-zero temperatures and snow squalls in January have prompted a winter driving reminder from police. Motorists should reduce speed because of weather and road conditions and also be more alert to potential problems while on the road. Drivers are urged not to follow other vehicles too closely as slippery road conditions require more time for braking in case of sudden stops, and poor weather conditions can also reduce the chance of seeing obstacles in time to brake at the normal posted speed limit. Drivers should keep windows, mirrors and front and read lights clear of snow and frost. They should allow more travel time on the road to reach destinations safely or cancel trips during foul weather if necessary. Finally, they should use seat belts and also have an emergency road vehicle kit, along with a small shovel, and bag of sand, in the car or truck in case of problems.
