THINGS TO SEE AND DO

The British Commercial Vehicle Museum charts the history of British commercial vehicles since the 1800s. This friendly, volunteer-run organisation is dedicated to preserving the UK road transport industry’s heritage. The museum is housed in the original inspection building of Leyland Motors, featuring a traditional Northern Light Roof. Immerse yourself in a nostalgic environment, filled with sounds, smells, and sights from a bygone era. Enjoy a sensory experience beloved by both young and old. Hear real stories from factory workers, drivers, and great inventors whose innovations shape our everyday lives. Visit the Heritage Café for all-day breakfast, lunch, or afternoon tea.

Heskin Hall and Shopping Village is located close to Leyland and offers visitors a wide range of unique retail shops all under one roof. Unlike the high street, no two outlets are the same, offering an incredible range of products and services. With free parking and free entry, it is a perfect destination if you are looking for a shopping day out in Lancashire. When you have exhausted all the unique and boutique shops you can also visit the historical tudor Hall itself which dates back to 1545 and has been designated a Grade I listed building. The hall is open to the public from Thursday to Sunday from 11 am – 4 pm a day out for everyone!
