Flexographic Tech Graduates Four Press Operators Flexographic Tech, Minneapolis, Minnesota, has graduated four new students from its Press Operator course: David Bey,Adam Byam, David Forbes, and Ed- ward Lashley. When the now-graduates began the course almost 12 weeks ago, they were completely new to flexographic printing. After completing the mix of 80 percent hands-on and 20 percent class- room training, all four graduates are now able to suc- cessfully operate flexographic presses. To attend the almost three-month course, Bey, Forbes and Lashley traveled to Minneapolis, Minneso- ta, from Malvern, Philadelphia, where they are em- ployed as extruder and slitter operators at Infiana. Adam Byam worked in receiving at AWT Labels & Packaging in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pazazz Wins Top Honor At Gutenberg Gala
On June 1 at the Bonsecours Market in the Old Port in Montreal, more than 350 people attended the 35th Annual Gutenberg Gala to celebrate the best of the best in printing achievement. Divided into two distinct sections for Innovation Printing and Technical Printing, 17 trophies were awarded to Quebec printing companies. Pazazz won the technical challenge in the self-marketing category for its project “Pop Art.” Pazazz’s in-house graphic artists designed and produced a branded marketing piece to showcase both their digital and flexo label capabilities in one project. The “Coup de Coeur” people’s choice was also awarded to Pazazz for its “Digital Experience 2” print project.
