Course Expectations Throughout Biology, you’ll build on essential topics that help explain everyday life. You’ll learn more about how your body operates, including processes like digestion, circulation, breathing, and the roles of nerves and hormones. Additionally, you’ll enhance your knowledge of DNA, inheritance, and evolution, while studying different diseases and their treatments. What will I learn? The course emphasises understanding the natural world, from how organisms thrive in their environments to the impact humans have on the planet. You will also explore genetics, evolution, biotechnology, and disease, which complete your knowledge of biology and its relevance to modern life. Practical work and a range of activities will support your learning, helping you build both biological knowledge and scientific skills. This foundation will prepare you to achieve the highest standards, should you wish to pursue biology at A Level.

Examination Structure The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Biology is a linear qualification. Students will sit two written examinations in the same series at the end of the course of study. The examinations are untiered and have a range of question types aimed at being accessible to students of all abilities.
