BTEC International Level 2 qualifications in Creative Media - CXCV1 Course Expectations The Pearson BTEC International Level 2 qualifications in Creative Media covers a variety of areas across creative media, namely researching and proposing ideas for a creative media product. In addition, learners can take units that focus on particular specialisms, for example, digital photography, video, game development, website production or advertising. In addition to the sector- specific content available in these qualifications, the requirements mean that learners develop the transferable skills needed to progress to further education or employment. Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Award in Creative Media is equivalent in size to one International GCSE. The course consists of two units, of which one is mandatory and assessed by a Pearson Set Assignment. All learners will be required to take mandatory content that is relevant across a variety of areas of creative media, namely researching and proposing ideas for a Creative Media product in response to a client brief. In addition, learners take optional units that focus on particular specialisms within Creative Media, for example, digital photography, video, game development, website production or advertising. All BTEC International Level 2 qualifications provide transferable knowledge and skills that prepare learners for progression to university.

Unit 4: Video Production - In this unit, you will explore the features of digital video for different purposes and platforms. You will use your findings to plan a video product for a specified purpose, which you will then shoot, edit and publish to a digital platform.

Skills, Knowledge and Understanding The Level 2 Award in Creative Media Skills is an exciting and challenging course which encourages you to gain media-specific theoretical writing skills, technical and practical skills and media-specific knowledge, enabling you to make informed choices with regard to a future career. Level 2 is an Internationally recognised qualification designed to prepare young people for the real world through practical activities and industry-fit-for-purpose assessments. Learners will cover Research, Planning and Pitching a Media Product, Moving Image Production, Editing for Moving Image, Audio Production, Lighting and Filming. The course aims to develop a foundation of skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by employers in the media production sector of the Creative Industries.
