In this course, students will study a combination of classic and contemporary studies, selected to suit an international audience, and develop an understanding of social and cognitive psychology, biological psychology, learning theories and development, applications of psychology and clinical psychology, and psychological skills. Develop the ability to work autonomously with independent investigations. Learn a wide range of classic and contemporary Psychological studies. Understand the world and the people within it. Apply your psychological subject knowledge to novel scenarios and situations. Analyse research methodology and apply statistics to real life situations. Evaluate a range of relevant psychological theories and constructs. Skills, Knowledge and Understanding

Course Expectations Achieve minimum of a grade 6 in English First Language, a grade 6 in Mathematics, and a grade 5 in Science GCSE with a biological component. Students are expected to learn a wide range of information and be able to understand, apply, and evaluate this information which comes in the form of theories and studies. Students will be expected to work continuously, completing independently past papers, research projects, and wider reading. Students will be expected to develop their mathematical ability to an advanced level, whilst being able to write extended essays within time constraints. Students are also expected to further develop their critical thinking and analytical skills; abstract reasoning; communication and interpersonal skills alongside leadership attributes and interpersonal skills.

Examination Structure This course is modular, with exams taken in January and June of each year.
