Course Expectations For the student to display a real desire to develop as a performer though regular attendance and punctuality to all scheduled rehearsals. For students to dedicate themselves equally to both the academic and the practical units of study For the student to approach the course with a commitment to Independant learning and a real desire for knowledge. For the student to approach the course with energy, enthusiasm and a can-do’ attitude.
Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
The Physical Theatre techniques and skills of Frantic Assembly’ including the building blocks for creation The work of Bertold Brecht The work if Stanislavski All Vocal skills, including: Volume, pace, pause, pitch, intonation, accent and tone. All physical skills including; Posture, gesture, stance, direction of focus (including the three circles of attention) Spatial and stage skills and vocabulary including proxemics and stage positioning.
Examination Structure The course is a blend of 3 key Dramatic elements: Acting / Written coursework and a final written examination.
The acting is one devised performance and one scripted performance. The written coursework is a write up of the students practical work. The final exam is in three sections: Theatre review / Antigone and Equus.
