Shortly after they incorporated the business, the world shut down for COVID — but that didn’t slow their momentum. During the pandemic, Karel reconnected with another high school friend named Adam. Adam owned Restoration Heroes, a mitigation company specializing in water, fire, mold, smoke, and ash remediation. His clients desperately needed trustworthy reconstruction partners to restore homes after the initial cleanup. “We told him, ‘We can do it,’” Philip says. “He gave us a couple of jobs. We knocked it out of the park.” Before long, nearly all of Eagle Eye’s work came from insurance claims — a corner of the industry that Philip quickly realized desperately needed fierce advocates. “We learned early on that insurance companies were shorting homeowners,” he says. “They’d approve sixty-five to eighty cents on the dollar.
