For reasons of health and safety, propelling devices such as rockets, catapults, slingshots, or any homemade device for the purpose of launching an object is prohibited. Objects may not be thrown into or out of windows. 16. Graffiti Housing and Residence Life prohibits markings such as initials, slogans, or drawings, written, spray-painted, or sketched on sidewalks, doors, hallways, or walls of buildings or public restrooms. This includes, but is not limited to, message boards and posted notes. 17. Hazing Hazing is prohibited as defined by North Carolina law 14-35 within all WSSU residence halls. 18. Harmful Behavior Physical harm, threats, harassment, bullying, verbal/written abuse, or retaliation to self or others is prohibited. Pranks that result in disturbances or distress to others or cause damage to university or personal property are prohibited. Disciplinary action will be taken against anyone disregarding this regulation. 19. Housekeeping a) Failure to maintain a clean and healthy residential space is prohibited. (1) Remove all trash from the assigned residential space on a weekly basis (2) Store open food properly; store items such as open snacks (i.e., chips, cereal) and other food items in plastic containers. b) Leaving personal trash in any public or shared areas is prohibited. c) Failure to remove trash and/or recycling to designated outdoor containers is prohibited. d) Storing personal items in public or shared areas (e.g., hallways) is prohibited. e)

Engaging in intentionally unsanitary conduct is prohibited. f) Residents cannot refuse custodial and maintenance services.

g) Failure to remove your personal items from sinks, showers, and floors during posted cleaning days is prohibited. Failure to keep a clean and healthy living space will result in additional charges due to additional housing maintenance assistance.
