THE AFFORDABLE SECRET TO A STUNNING KITCHEN MAKEOVER A Splash of Sage or a Bold Pop of Navy Blue?
When you think of reviving your kitchen, you’re probably picturing months of disastrous construction and the heftiest price tag imaginable. Well, there is a much simpler, much easier, and less expensive way to upgrade your kitchen quickly. A new, fresh color on your cabinets can alter your entire kitchen and even alter the atmosphere of your whole home. You won’t have contractors roaming your home for weeks or months. Instead, you’ll have your kitchen
Sherwin Williams’ Agreeable Gray or Magnolia Home’s Gatherings. Soft, Muted Blue or Deep Navy Blue Blue is often a safe way to be adventurous in your home color palette, yet two blues stand out from the rest. The first is any muted blue shade that mixes blue and gray to give a peaceful and gentle approach to the color. Check Benjamin Moore’s Slate Blue, Smoke, or Amsterdam for muted blue examples. Meanwhile, for those wanting more of a statement, deep navy blues can be the color that enhances your kitchen space. This color always gives an elegant and creative touch. See Benjamin Moore’s Van Deusen Blue or Glidden’s Rich Navy. Sage Green or Forest Green A sage green can be that bit of nature you bring indoors that brings new life to your kitchen. Both timeless and playful, sage green can also be an excellent choice for those wanting to spice up their home color palette as a whole. For example, consider Benjamin Moore’s Sage Wisdom and Sage Tint or Farrow & Ball’s Lichen. For a more drastic transformation, a deep forest green may be what you need. When it comes to these deep greens, preparing your cabinets properly is vital for a smooth finish. We’ll sand down or remove previous paint layers if needed to provide the best finished look. Review Behr’s Hidden Forest or
Benjamin Moore’s Essex Green if you want a dark, royal atmosphere. White or Cream Hues As you may have guessed, the safest color for your cabinets will always be white and cream. While they may seem too safe, they add a clean, classic look to any space and can refresh your kitchen. The added benefit of white cabinets is that you can be more creative when choosing hardware, patterns, and countertops. For a crisp white, see Benjamin Moore’s White Dove; for a tasteful cream, look at Sherwin William’s Ivory Lace. Start the new year right with a kitchen transformation. Our winter interior discount is still available, and we’ll cut prices by 10% for anyone wanting us to update their interior. as good as new in no time at all. Color matters when it comes to
interiors. It can bring serene tranquility, energetic positivity, or subtle elegance. The color you have in your kitchen right now might not be the right aesthetic that fits your home or personal style. While trendy, bright colors might be in fashion now, you might be ready to swap them out in less than a year. You need a color that matches you while being timeless enough to last your home for years to come. Here are some examples! Warm Gray or ‘Greige’ Yes, greige is indeed a color. Those shades of cool beige and warm, milky grays make up greige and are a smart choice for most kitchens. With its versatility, this classic color can match most backsplashes and countertops. You can even add the next level of luxury by adding gold hardware to your cabinets and drawers. Take a look at

FROM NEGLECTED NOOK TO FUNCTIONAL SPACE REIMAGINE YOUR UNDER-STAIR STORAGE
If your home has indoor stairs, what do you have underneath them? Is there a tiny door that opens to reveal an even tinier (and usually useless) space? Or is it just a flat wall with pictures, a mirror, or other decorations hanging on it? If you answered yes to either, we’re here to unveil a wealth of untapped storage space underneath your stairs. Typically, indoor stairs that aren’t concrete are completely hollow underneath, which is why some homes have those tiny doors and spaces — a token effort to provide storage space. But the truth is that you can do much better than a waist-high door leading nowhere. So, if your home has indoor stairs with an awkward space underneath, here are some creative ideas to help maximize the space’s potential. No. 1: Install Cabinets Most walls on the sides of staircases hide completely hollow spaces behind them. By putting a few cabinets or shelves in that space,
you can exponentially increase your home’s storage without increasing its size. No. 2: Playspace Galore This is where that tiny door and tiny space can come in handy — because kids are tiny, too! To create a child-size playroom, add a child’s cushioned chair, lamp, toys, a rug, and even some books. No. 3: A Wine ‘Cellar’ Wine lovers everywhere dream of one day having a space dedicated to their beloved reds and whites, but finding room in their home to build it may prove impossible. But not if you have stairs! You can fill that awkward under-the-stairs space with wine cabinets and finish with glass doors. No. 4: A Room for Your Dog While your dog may share your space with you, they probably don’t have a room they can call their own. Fill your area under the stairs with a fluffy dog bed, a water bowl, mood lighting, and a few toys, and your dog will be living large.

This year, many friends and families will set up their Christmas trees and work together to decorate them with their favorite ornaments. Some ornaments even have their own special meaning or associated memory that sends the entire group down memory lane. While this holiday nostalgia is wonderful, the problem is that many of these ornaments are old, from when kids were little, a married couple just started dating, or a group of friends first met. People rarely add new decorations to the tree and create new memories to look back on in the coming years. But you and your loved ones can change that this year by making your own DIY cardboard gingerbread ornaments together! All you need for this ornament is brown cardboard (from any box lying around), a white gel pen or marker, and string. To make your “gingerbread,” you first draw out the shape of your ornament(s) in pencil on a piece of cardboard before cutting it out. Then, use your white marker or pen to add “frosting” designs. We recommend adding some of those traditional gingerbread frosting loops around the edges before going in and adding details. Lastly, punch a small hole (you can just poke the pen tip through) on top of the cardboard on the ornament, feed the string through, and tie a knot at the top to make a loop. You can put the loop over a branch on your tree, and it will look like a freshly baked cookie is hanging there! If you want to make the ornament even more meaningful, have your kids, friends, or other family members make themselves (or you!) as cardboard gingerbread people! They can add their hair, outfits, or anything else to their ginger-person design. Having everyone’s ginger selves hanging on the tree together will always remind you of the time you spent with them to create these decorations. The best part is they’ll never go bad, and you can reuse them every year! DIY Gingerbread Ornaments: Add Sweet Memories to Your Christmas Tree

THINK OUTSIDE THE GIFT BOX START A NEW TRADITION THIS CHRISTMAS
Christmas is built on tradition. Many families celebrate the holiday by waking up bright and early to open presents, attending church, having a delicious meal, and closing the day with “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Elf,” or another Christmas classic. Some families have been doing this for so long that they’re starting to look for new traditions to throw in the mix to spice up the
opportunity to create a new tradition around gift-giving. Fill a medium- or large-size gift box with smaller items you like to give each year. You can stuff it with Christmas pajamas, mugs, books, movies, and other small gifts you know your family or friends will love. Refill the box with different versions of these items every year. You can also do this with your friends in place of a Secret Santa gift exchange. Set a budget and draw names to determine whom each person will give their box to. From there, you go to local garage sales, dollar stores, and thrift shops to fill the box with things the person will like. A Reminder of Past Christmases Do you buy a real tree every Christmas? Most of us bring our old trees out to the curb when the holiday passes. Before you do so, cut off the very bottom of the tree trunk. Write the date on it and include any extra information you want, such as a child’s or pet’s first Christmas. After a few years, you’ll have a collection of tree trunk rounds that help you reminisce about one of the happiest days of the year and all the memories you made.
season a little more. There are plenty of ways to change your holiday traditions without losing the meaning of the season! You could go caroling or try out a white elephant gift exchange with the entire family. If you’re looking for something unique, try one of the following activities this year. The Christmas Box One of the most exciting parts of Christmas is when everyone gathers to open gifts. The Christmas box gives you an
