After college, Jeff Winn worked as a field engineer for an oil company. After a few years, he moved back to his hometown, Llano, to pursue his true interest of doing performance engine work. He started a small machine shop in the back of the family NAPA store. Business grew quickly, prompting the 1997 purchase of land, and construction of the 3800 sq. ft. shop. Equipment and manpower added over time pushed the building to capacity, requiring efficient management of the constant workload. A full service shop, with state of the art equipment, means all work is performed in house. This includes custom crank grinding, balancing, multiple performance modifications, innovative machining operations, and assembly. Their moto “If they bring it in, we will do it” couples with quality work to drive growth. Results include a wide variety of engine work. Motorcycle, UTV, European, Domestic, Classic Cars, Street Performance, all types of Racing, Marine, and Ag/Industrial Gas/Diesel are common. Trending up over the last few years is Light Truck Diesel business and large over the road truck engines by CAT, Cummins, and Navistar. Knowing it is essential to quality work, Jeff jokes “cleaning is 50% of what we do”. This prompted investments like the Empire 48x48 industrial soda blasting system, which eliminates the possibility of retained cleaning media, plus a 40HP, 250
