HISTORY HIGHLIGHTS

2011 - 2022

2021 In June, Good News is incorporated. The College Council ceases, and the College Board comes into operation. Ground is broken for the construction of a Junior Years building. COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns continue. The ‘Rite Journey’ program is introduced in Year 9. IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Accreditation is attained. First 95+ ATAR results achieved, Dux of the College, Ziyang Li achieves 98.85 and Proxime Accessit, Aayushi Khatri achieves 98.05.

2022

An extra Year 7 class is introduced, taking the total to 5 streams. Funding is approved to construct an ILC featuring an Early Learning Centre and Allied Health Facilities.

2017 We celebrate our 20th birthday! Middle Years building is opened. The College runs its first ever cultural immersion tour, to Italy. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award program is introduced.

2014 The first students complete Year 10 and the school offers its first VCE subjects. An Arts & Technology Centre opens in November. Additional modular classrooms are added to accommodate growing student numbers. The carpark and oval are redeveloped.

2011 A year of firsts: Year 7s

2015 There are more than 100 Preps, across four classes. There are three classes of Year 7s. Construction of Senior Years Science building begins on ‘the farm’. 2016 First Year 12s graduate and the first Presentation Ball is held. A new staff room is constructed.

The College moves to a sub- school model, with Middle Years (Years 6 - 9) and Junior Years (Prep – Year 5). 2013 A Student Leadership Council is introduced. Dance and Philosophy are introduced to the curriculum.

The ‘Farmhouse’ is demolished to make way for ILC construction. In September, we are scheduled to officially open our Junior Years Building.

2020 We welcome Fiona McAuliffe as Principal. IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Accreditation is attained. The global COVID-19 pandemic sees remote learning introduced. Our inaugural Deputy Principal – Academic, Richard Baird is appointed.

2019 The College has more than 1000 students enrolled. A cultural immersion tour to Japan takes place. Simon Hughes moves on from GNLC.

Materials Technology building completed.

2018 The College delivers its first Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects. The Senior Years Building opens. The Poppy Garden is installed.
