Days 1-2: UK - Shanghai Today you’ll fly overnight to Shanghai. Day 3: Christmas Day in Shanghai

Day 9: New Year’s Eve in Gubei Watertown This morning, explore the Summer Palace. Continue to Gubei Watertown, a beautifully recreated ancient town nestled against the backdrop of the Simatai section of the Great Wall. In the evening, soar up to the heights of the Great Wall by cable car and watch the illuminations light up this ancient wonder. Day 10: New Years Day on the Great Wall Spend the morning on a quiet section of the Great Wall where you’ll toast the New Year with a glass of champagne. Day 11: Beijing Head to Tiananmen Square and stroll into the sprawling magnificence of the Forbidden City, before travelling by bullet train to Harbin. Days 12-13: Harbin Spend the next few days visiting the Shong Hua River, where you can observe winter activities like ice swimming. Mingle with locals at the Ice Lantern Festival and visit the incredible Harbin Ice and Snow Festival where you’ll be blown away by the sheer scale and intricate décor of towering ice buildings, often derived from Chinese fairy tales. Day 14: Harbin - Beijing Take a bullet train to Beijing. This evening, tuck into a delicious local delicacy, Peking duck. Day 15: Beijing - UK Today you’ll fly back to the UK.

Spend Christmas Day in the peaceful Yu Gardens and explore the atmospheric old town. Enjoy a cruise down the Huangpu River and a festive feast in the evening! Day 6: Chengdu - Xian Board the bullet train to the former ancient capital of Xian. Day 7: Xian Visit the Terracotta Warriors, created over 2,000 years ago to accompany Emperor Qin Shihuang into the afterlife. Later, explore Xian’s 14th century old town. Day 8: Xian - Beijing Take the speedy bullet train to Beijing. Spend the afternoon enjoying a leisurely stroll in the Hutongs and have dinner with a local family.
