WorkBC Employment Services Centre
For Job Seekers The WorkBC Employment Services program has helped individuals find work since 2019. WorkBC Centres offer employment advice, specialized services and the support you need to find a meaningful and rewarding job. They also connect you with organizations and employers for job opportunities and community attachment. At each centre, there are staff that speak a variety of other languages, including Arabic, Dutch, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Tamil, Tagalog, Ukrainian and Urdu. All services are cost-free and tailored to residents who are unemployed and legally entitled to work in Canada. Part-time workers who do not meet the criterion for ‘unemployed’ may be considered as Precariously Employed and may be eligible for case management services. Staffed Resource Area Fully staffed self-serve resource centre for independent job search activities, providing computers and internet access, printers, telephones, fax machines, photocopier and scanning services. As well, a variety of job search resources and access to community service resource information Employment Focused Workshops • Career assessments to help you succeed in finding suitable occupation. • Workshops on resume writing, interview skills, cover letters, networking, calling cards, online job searching, computer and email basics. • Workshops in Spanish and Arabic. • Language-specific services available one-to-one. • Employment counselling and job placement • Qualified counsellors available to coach and guide you through work search processes. • Job placement services available through valuable community and employer contacts. • Work experience opportunities for eligible participants.
