Services for Families and Children

Support for Parents of Young Children Provides education and support for parents and caregivers of children 0-5 years old and residing in Surrey. This program offers support and parenting education based on the science of child development and attachment theory which will encourage the development of healthy families within the community. Support is also provided to families to develop deeper connections within their community. One-to-One Services: Parents and caregivers are provided parenting education support and connected to community resources based on the needs of the family. This service is offered in the home, in the community or at the SPYC office. Parenting Through the Child’s Eyes: A free connection- based parenting workshop based on the science of child development for families with children aged 0-5 years residing in Surrey. The parent education workshop runs for 8 weeks, one 2-hour session/week. Multiple cohorts offered throughout the year. Phone................................................................ 604.583.3852 Special Services to Children and Their Families Provides children aged 5-18 years who have autism and/or developmental disabilities with one-to- one services. The program focuses on community integration, family support, appropriate behaviour and development of communication, social and life skills. MCFD referral only.
