spect to sacred music. JOHN LUND- BERG sang fo r many years with The Old Fashioned Revival Hour Quartet. Currently he is Professor o f Music at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California and Minister of Music at the Church o f the Open Door in Los An geles. Our Great Saviour with The John Lundberg Male Choir (WORD WST8453) comes to us in the midst of a flood o f more contemporary styles o f music. A unique variation to note is the fa ct that Mr. Lundberg uses three dis tinctive stylings to make full use o f the fine voices that make up the choir. They include the straight male chorus with such selections as How Firm A Foun dation and Our Great Saviour to the rich harmony and the “ Halls o f Ivy” sound on their rendition o f Now The Day Is Over to something not heard very often these days— a three-part ar rangement on such beloved numbers as The Spacious Firmament and O Could I Speak. JACK L. COLEMAN makes note o f the fa ct that “ all the numbers on this album are the direct result of Mr. Lundberg’s arranging talent and were especially d e s i g n e d fo r this album.” DWIGHT G O O D o f T H E GOOD TW INS sat with me in the studio a few weeks ago and said, “ You know, most teenagers think they’ve got forever to do what they want to do.” Dwight was commenting in connection with their latest release. Church Is Finally Over (Supreme S222, Box 352, G l e n d a l e , Cal.) He said, “ The song that we chose fo r our title song is fo r the kid who plays around with church and plays games with a faith in Christ. Pretty soon it’s all over.” Dwight was refer ring to the lyric that suggests you stop and think! This selection, backed by the Ralph Carmichael Orchestra, is a tremendously moving number. You will profit greatly from ju st getting alone somewhere and doing nothing but listen

Calvary, which was penned while he was on a jetliner returning to Califor nia after attending the funeral o f his eight-year-old niece. Again . . . go off alone and ju st listen! BILL PEARCE continues his minis try at Moody Bible Institute’s WMBI in Chicago while DICK ANTHONY is involved in the expanding Christian television ministry (See Day o f Discov ery feature in this issue.) Both o f these men continue regularly to combine their talents in song. Their latest contribu tion The Rest of The Way (W ord W ST 8409) is not, however, typical o f past albums. Mixed between the standard Pearce-Anthony sound is something a bit different fo r these gentlemen. En- route to England, the artists stopped in Boston long enough to present a series o f special concerts. There, between ap pearances, conductor-composer Anthony created a “ buoyant” tune especially fo r the younger set. I suggest you listen fo r Going To Build My Life. A s their album jacket suggests: “ A ll in all, it’s quite a package.” THE PALERMOS . . . remember them? These gentlemen are some o f the most sincere anywhere, sincere about bring ing the gospel to people through music. Now granted everyone may not be at tracted to their distinctive sound, but what a tremendous m inistry they have! I first met them during my work with YFC in Chicago, but I must con fess I’d lost track o f them and their “ Spaghetti Feasts” o f long ago. How ever, then, a new album by these fel lows came to my attention. (The Paler- mos W ST 8461). In addition to the Pa lermo sound are some interesting com ments and voices from their recent Christmas spent in Vietnam. I f you have appreciated and loved the Paler- mos over the years, then you would be pleased to add their latest album to your home library. I imagine that most o f the K.B. read ers have always felt that the recording industry is mainly fo r the professional artist. Maybe in most aspects it is, but now many local non-professional artists and groups are “ making records” by the hundreds. In many cases, it seems a church will expand its local music ministry or support a talented person within the congregation. Such is the case o f many churches in Southern California who in recent weeks have seen the dream o f making a recording come true. By pure coincidence they all happen to be Baptist churches. Let me introduce a couple that have come to my attention in recent weeks. Taking advantage o f their various choirs and soloists, the Magnolia Baptist Church o f Anaheim has released such, num bers as Let Thy Mantle Fall On Me Cont. on Page 81

“Good Turning . . . from Studio 107 I extend a warm welcome to you to come on in . . .” With that daily greet ing over Southern California, it is my pleasure to introduce via recording the finest sacred music for the listening, in spirational enjoyment of our radio fam ily. Now the pleasure is doubled, as be ginning with this issue, I have the op portunity of sharing these same fine albums with The King’s Business read ers around the globe. Naturally, each of us has his own personal taste and preference and usually that depends on age. My purpose is simply to introduce the new releases to you with the hope that in a day when family relationships are strained because of activities out side the home, you and your household will be enriched as through your rooms the sounds of inspiration flows. Usually I’ll be suggesting: only the latest releases to come our w ay but in this first issue I don’t want to pass up the opportunity o f getting caught up as so many good albums have come to us over the summer months. One such release features a gentleman who long has been known fo r his talent with re

as it speaks! By the way, RALPH CARMICHAEL authored this in the fine tradition that we have come to ex pect to be done by this genius in the music field. Most o f the selections are done with orchestra and chorus and feature s e v e r a l Carmichael composi tions such as There IS More To Life, He’s Everything To Me, and one selec tion that it seems all artists are re cording these days: I Looked For Love. DWAYNE GOOD has added three o f his writings, including This Jesus Of
