The main purpose of the gauge is to give a highly accurate measurement of material length, whilst it can also be used to assess material integrity, detect corrosion, erosion, or wear. It will work on coated, hot, or moving surfaces where conventional ultrasonic gauges struggle.

The Moore & Wright MWT-2600 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is a highly accurate electromagnetic ultrasonic thickness gauge used to measure the thickness of conductive materials without requiring direct contact or coupling gels. It uses electromagnetic interaction to generate ultrasonic waves at the material’s surface and analyses the echoes after they travel through the material and back to the surface. An optional high temperature probe extends the possible range of applications.
