Section 3 - Methodology & Sequence of Works
• Knight Harwood has appointed PCC to undertake the painting activities within the Mulgrave Theatre project.
• PCC will ensure all materials, plant and tools are delivered to Mulgrave Theatre prior to works commencing, at an agreed time and date with the Knight Harwood project team. PCC will ensure the materials and plant are stored within a designated area which have been provided and agreed with by the Knight Harwood team. • PCC operatives will attend the Knight Harwood site induction prior to starting works within Mulgrave Theatre, following the induction process, PCC operatives will read the contents of their working methodologies/ safe system of works. Upon completion of signing the method statement, the PCC team will set to work. • Knight Harwood will ensure the PCC ’s work area is suitably prepared, and safe for works to commence. Knight Harwood will notify PCC on the known locations of live services and asbestos (if applicable) etc. and will isolate live services if required.
• PCC operatives will establish a suitable and sufficient segregation and ensuring no paint droplets or mist can enter other areas of the site/ property and will remain contained within our working area(s).
• PCC will ensure the work area is set up, with suitable paint dust sheets safeguarding from any unforseen spillages.
• PCC operatives will be issued suitable PPE for their painting operations. PCC operatives will inspect the condition of their PPE before use and report any obvious defects to their supervisor.
• PCC will execute a simple sequence of works by applying the paint from a top-down sequence.
• In the event PCC require access at height, it has been agreed that a 5 tread step ladder shall be used for short durations not exceeding 15 minutes (last resort). Additionally, the PCC team shall work from suitable and sufficient double platformed mobile towers (3.5M in height) for ceiling height accessibility. A competent PCC persons will log, tag, and inspect all mobile towers at weekly intervals. • Any debris produced by our work will be cleaned progressively throughout the working day and disposed of within the Mulgrave Theatre / Knight Harwood waste bins provided. PCC will ensure the working areas are cleaned, made safe and prepared for the next working day.
• PCC will ensure suitable exclusions zone are set up to prevent members if the public being affected by our works.
• PCC will respect and adhere to all Knight Harwood site rules, and procedures at all times.
