EDISON FESTIVAL OF LIGHT 5K - Feb 18 Calling all runners to come join the 1,500 participants in the sanctioned race that has received national recognition due to the rich history, enthusiastic participants and thousands of cheering fans. Runners will race along with the Grand Parade rout and cross the finish line just in time for the parade to begin. LUAU OF LIFE GALA - Mar 18 Helping kids win their battles against cancer at Luau of Life! The Luau of Life is an evening of Polynesian and tropical fun! It includes all the excitement and spectacle of a traditional luau. The venue is set with tropical ambience with something for each of the senses. This casual yet upscale event offers attendees all the best of Polynesia, including traditional hula and fire dancing. The event benefits Pediatric Oncology Research to help save the lives of children. www.sbdac.com THE GRAND PARADE OF LIGHT - Feb 18 From 7 PM to 10 PM, come join 200,000 spectators for the largest illuminated night parade in the region. Admire the many floats, balloons, bands and specialty units as they will make their way along the two mile parade path from Fort Myers High School through downtown Fort Myers. Street seating is available for purchase at $10. VIP tickets to view the parade at Harborside Event Center can be purchased at $55 and include food, beverage, indoor or outdoor seating. www.fortmyers-sanibel.com CASINO ROYALE - Mar 31 On Friday March 31, starting at 6 PM enjoy a fun filled evening with casino games, a silent auction and entertainment.
