7. BEST PRACTICE UTILIZATION Subcategories — (Participants' actions to be performed within Program Period)

A. Defensive Driver Program Maintain a Training Log to indicate at least 75 percent of your company drivers have taken defensive driver training. The defensive driver program must include a combination of behind the wheel and classroom training. NOTE: Any defensive driving training program is acceptable. Supply your Training Log as your documentation of training and you’ll get the points! B. Automated Event Recorders Camera technology is designed to monitor driver and passenger behaviors, identify unsafe driving habits, and correct those unsafe habits before they can turn into serious accidents. Provide evidence that at least 80 percent of company-owned and/or leased vehicles have dual facing AERs installed, and you will get the points! C. Towing & Recovery Industry Certification Provide evidence that at least 75 percent of your operators are certified by an accredited program, and you will get the points! Examples might include: Wreckmaster, TIMS, In Person SSTA Ultra Heavy Duty Training. D. Return to Work Program Verification that you have a formal, ‘Return-To-Work’ program in place. Participant must send their program details to earn the points. E. Monthly Safety/Claims Prevention Meeting Documentation that a safety and/or claims prevention meeting is conducted monthly. To receive points, the content must address a specific safety component (for example, preventing backing incidents, heat stress or vehicle inspection procedures.). To receive points, supply the monthly topics discussed and copies of two attendance logs during the evaluation period. F. Safety Incentive Program Evidence that you have a structured and consistent method of rewarding employees who get involved, identify potential hazards, make suggestions, and participate in creating positive change regarding workplace safety. Your program may be participation based (rewarding employees for actively participating in your safety program) or a combination of activity and result based (rewarding employees for a reduction of accidents/injuries). Upon receipt of evidence demonstrating an in-force safety incentive program, you’ll get the points! G. Wellness Program Evidence that you have a program to positively influence the physical health, mental health, and overall well-being of your employees. Common activities in a wellness program include: a company-sponsored exercise program, sleep apnea screening, subsidized gym memberships, education seminars, a smoking and tobacco cessation program, health screenings, and a weight-loss program. Your program may be self-managed, or you may work in conjunction with a third-party vendor or health insurance carrier. Upon receipt of evidence demonstrating an in-force wellness program, you’ll get the points!
