HUNTER EDUCATION The Texas Hunter Education certification program covers the skills, regulations and responsibilities of hunting, conservation, wildlife management and identification. This certification lasts a lifetime and is recognized by all states and provinces requiring hunter education. To register, go to tpwd.elementlms.com and click on the “Hunter Education” tab. Select the “Hunter Education Classroom Course” option and search for Pearland classes. $15 course fee & $10 facility fee 9+ years DFNC
BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU BJJ is considered a martial art, a sport, a method for promoting physical fitness and building character, and a way to a better life. Founded on the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger, heavier opponent by using technique and leverage to defeat them. Come and get in the best shape of your life. We offer a free 3 day trial with the purchase of a uniform for $39. (Must have a uniform to participate.) TEXAS TRAIL RIDES Visit the Bay Area Equestrian Center for a trail ride! Participants will learn the basics of horsemanship in the arena before heading out on a trail ride through the woods and along the creek. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a participating adult and all participants must wear boots with a heel and jeans. $65 resident / $81.25 non-resident 8+ years BAEC, 1908 E. Broadway Street.
BAYOU KAYAKING Join our Outdoor Recreation team on a guided tour of Armand Bayou! Participants will kayak the bayou looking at the extensive wildlife while enjoying one of the Houston-areas last natural bayous. Single, sit-on-top kayaks will be provided. An adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18. Participants will meet at Armand Bayou Nature Center by 8:30 a.m. the morning of the program. $50 resident / $74 non-resident 12+ years Armand Bayou, 7500 Bay Area Blvd., Houston Sat., June 15, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
