Cougars win again

and they were able to hold the Cumberland Bandits off for a 6-5 victory. “I thought the players played well and for a full 60 minutes,” said head coachMarc Bernique. “We did have a few issues in the second period that allowed Cumberland to score but we were able to bounce back with a strong finish despite having a short bench. I was happy with the way the players responded the last few weeks. I am looking forward to next weekend as we end the season and start preparing for the playoffs.” The Cougars will be playing NorthDundas Rockets this weekend, February 13, at the Vankleek Hill Arena at 7:30 p.m., followed by an away game against theMorrisburg Lions, Sunday, February 14 at the Morrisburg Arena.
The Vankleek Hill Cougars beat out the Cumberland Bandits on home ice Saturday with a 6-5 defeat. The teams played a good game Saturday, but the Cougars played just a little better. The six winning goals were scored by Tyler Druce, Antoine Messier, Brendan Rowe, Jean-Luc Theoret, and two by Maxime Edmund.They were assisted by Hugo Blanchard, Francis Chartrand, Tyler Dopelhamer, CharlieMcKeown, Jean- Luc Theoret, and two by Zackery Bougie. After the first period, the Cougars were ahead by 3-2. The second period brought the Cougars ahead to 6-4
