When dipping a spoon into a carton of rocky road ice cream, most people savor the chocolaty treat and ignore its container. To Infinite Motion Control, the carton — the entire paperboard packaging industry — is the focus.

Infinite Motion Control provides custom- ers with paper cup converting machinery to improve their equipment’s productivity and quality control in producing paper products, such as beverage, yogurt and ice cream containers. Infinite Motion Control’s equipment is engineered expressly for the paperboard packaging industry, according to the company’s website. “We’re at a moment in time where we expect to see a dramatic change in the overall size of our business as we negotiate some very nice contracts...”

is the company’s fourth location. “Each time we’ve moved, it’s gotten a little bit nicer and a little bit better and a little bit bigger,” Stark said. “The St. John property here in Mequon, Wisconsin, is a very nice property. It’s beautiful. We have to enter- tain customers from all over the world, so the property here is a nice space, and it presents itself very well.” In addition to the look and feel of the property, Stark complimented the management team, including Greg Fax, regional partner with St. John Properties. “If we have problems, which have been relatively few, there has been a very good response from St. John Properties,” he said.

When co-owners Rick Stark and Steve Lueders started Infinite Motion Control in 2001, inspection automation systems for paper cups were the main component of the business, Stark said. However, manu- facturing material handling for the digital finishing and digital printing industries has become a larger part of the business.

“Steve and I started humbly,” Stark recalled. “We started in the back room of another
