If you’ve been thinking about taking a break from your usual routine, October might be your best excuse. According to Lonely Planet, it’s the ideal month to visit America’s national parks, and once you’ve been to one, it’s easy to understand why. No matter how many you’ve visited, there’s something about national parks that sticks with you, not because they’re trendy or photogenic (though they definitely are), but because they’re reminders of what nature looks like when we get out of its way. I haven’t made it to all the parks (not yet anyway), but the ones I’ve seen have been beautiful. Yellowstone felt like another planet, but what I remember most are the bison! A herd came down the road and surrounded our car, close enough that rolling the window down felt questionable. My brother-in-law was panicking, saying, “Shut the window. Shut the window!” while the rest of us were just frozen, staring at the massive animals. Denali was a different kind of experience. We rode horses through the park, always rounding corners, hoping to glimpse the summit. It stayed hidden behind clouds the whole time, but the ride was still incredible. Moose sightings helped make up for the missing mountain. And then there’s the Grand Canyon. You can look at photos all day long, but they won’t prepare you for what it’s like to actually stand at the rim. Its scale hits differently when you’re there; it’s just too big to shrink down into a photo. The other park I’d revisit in a heartbeat is the Redwoods. You don’t forget what it’s like to stand at the base of a tree that’s been alive longer than most civilizations. But there are still places I haven’t been, like Yosemite, which always slips through the cracks. And Arches has been calling my name lately. Herds of Bison, Hidden Summits, and Giant Trees The Parks That Stick With You
The colors and formations feel like they belong in a sci-fi movie. Everyone I know who’s been there says the same thing: Photos don’t do it justice.
Our national parks aren’t just pretty places to snap a photo. They’re vital. They protect wild spaces, offer a place to breathe, and remind us that the world isn’t all traffic, concrete, and Wi-Fi signals. And the best part is, they’re for everyone. You don’t have to be the hiking, camping type to appreciate a good view. Some parks, like Yellowstone or Sequoia National Park, are drivable. You can see geysers erupt or trees that touch the sky without ever breaking a sweat or walking a long distance if you aren’t able to. More than anything, being in a national park gives you perspective. You see a place that’s been mostly untouched for thousands of years, and suddenly today’s stress feels a little smaller. It’s a chance to reconnect with nature, yourself, and maybe even the people you’re traveling with. So, what are you waiting for? Whether you want to walk under towering trees, watch steam rise from the earth, or just sit in silence and take in the view, the parks are waiting for you!

AUTUMN ANGLING WHERE, WHEN, AND HOW TO HOOK FISH THIS FALL
Fish Throughout the Day Unlike summer, when fish are most active during dawn and dusk, fall fish feed more consistently throughout the day. This allows for flexible fishing schedules without the need for early starts. Focus on Structure Fish gravitate toward structures like submerged wood and rocky banks during fall. These areas provide shelter and warmth, and targeting them can lead to successful catches. Match the Catch In fall, baitfish grow larger. Adjust your lure size and color to mimic the prevalent forage in your fishing area. This increases the likelihood of enticing bites. Explore Stocked Waters Many lakes and streams are stocked with trout and catfish in the fall. These fish are often eager to bite, providing excellent opportunities for anglers.
As cooler temperatures, golden leaves, and holidays roll in, fall is one of the best-kept secrets in fishing. While many pack up their rods after summer, savvy anglers know autumn is when the real magic happens. Fish feed aggressively as they prepare for winter, and the crowds of people enjoying the water have thinned out. A few tweaks can level up your fishing game this season, whether you’re chasing bass, crappie, or trout. Target Shallow Waters As temperatures drop, baitfish like shad move into the backs of creeks and embayments. Predatory fish such as bass and crappie follow, making these areas hotspots. Focus your efforts on these shallow zones to increase your catch rate. Experiment With Depths Fall turnover can scatter fish throughout various depths. Don’t hesitate to try different depths until you locate active fish. Using a fish finder can help you identify these productive zones.
Utilize Live Bait Live bait can be particularly effective in cooler temperatures. Minnows, nightcrawlers, and shad can more effectively entice sluggish fish than artificial lures.
“I have had the pleasure of physical therapy for the past 4 months. I have learned so much about the importance of strength and balance. My experience has encouraged me to be more active in many ways ... biking, walking, and exercising. “I have enjoyed working with Eric and Lou because they have both been so positive. I also appreciate Kathie and Michelle. Their friendly greetings always start my physical therapy session on a happy note, and I notice how friendly other clients are.” Monitor Water Conditions Fall often brings changes in water levels due to drawdowns. Stay informed about these conditions, as they influence fish locations and behavior. IN THE SPOTLIGHT

CELEBRATING National Physical Therapy Month THE BEST-KEPT SECRET IN HEALTHCARE!
Cost-Effectiveness Physical therapy can be more cost-effective than other medical interventions, like surgeries or long-term medication use. Many people find that investing in physical therapy reduces the need for more expensive treatments down the line and leads to quicker recovery times. Addressing issues early can save money in the long run while improving their health. Improved Mobility and Function Physical therapists are all about getting you moving and back to the activities you love. Whether recovering from surgery, an injury, or managing a chronic condition, therapy helps you regain your ability to perform daily activities. Working closely with your physical therapist gives you a personalized plan that focuses on your goals. Long-Term Benefits The benefits of physical therapy extend beyond immediate relief. By identifying and addressing the root causes of pain and dysfunction, your physical therapist will help you improve your health. Additionally, physical therapy emphasizes the importance of physical activity and exercise, which have incredible benefits for overall well-being. You learn how to stay active, reducing your risk for future injuries and promoting a healthier lifestyle!
October is National Physical Therapy Month, a time to recognize physical therapists’ vital role in improving our health. If you’ve ever considered physical therapy or have experienced its benefits, here are five reasons to celebrate this valuable intervention. Holistic Approach Physical therapy takes a holistic approach to health. Instead of just treating symptoms, physical therapists focus on the whole body. They assess how different systems interact and work together to improve your overall function and mobility. This leads to better outcomes, as it addresses the underlying issues rather than just masking pain. Safety One of physical therapy’s greatest advantages is safety. Unlike surgeries and medications — which can come with side effects, the risk of infection, and
more — physical therapy is a noninvasive treatment option. It provides effective methods for managing pain and improving function without the risks associated with invasive procedures. This makes it a great choice
for individuals seeking relief from pain or to recover from an injury.
