The Epidemiology and Research Methods module offers an introduction to epidemiological concepts and methods, alongside qualitative approaches for public health research and intervention evaluation. It covers research principles, study designs, result interpretation, bias sources, and statistical methods. Additionally, it introduces qualitative research, emphasising action and participatory methods. Assessment is conducted through an online test.
This module offers an introductory understanding of epidemiology's concepts and methods in primary and community health. It explores epidemiological research principles, study designs with real-life examples, result interpretation, bias and confounding sources, and statistical measurement methods. While no prior statistical experience is necessary, familiarity with quantitative data can be advantageous for students.
