Learn More About EcoArmor’s Bundled Service

If you live in the rural countryside like I do, eliminating bugs while keeping your home and plants chemical-free can seem like a real challenge. However, it’s our highest priority to keep our pest treatments as safe as possible for humans and pests alike — and I’m so confident in our system that I utilize nearly every EcoArmor pest package at my own house. My wife and I own only an acre or two, but bundling our services really helps with our pest problems because we’re surrounded by trees. With our Mosquito Reduction Program, not only are we able to eliminate mosquitoes from the trees but also a variety of other bugs, including spiders, ants, and wasps. It helps create a completely safe outdoor environment for my family. If you’re reading this newsletter, there’s a good chance you’re already on our basic plan! But you might not know exactly how our packages can bundle together, and why they can save you thousands of dollars in pest damages in the long run. Here’s a quick breakdown for your easy reference. With our Quarterly Pest Protection Plan, homeowners don’t have to avoid certain areas of their home due to pests. Every 90 days, we’ll come to your property with perimeter protection treatments, plus interior treatments as needed. We’ll cover your entire house (up to 4,000 square feet) plus any 10–15-foot exterior perimeter. Plus, a licensed technician will remove all spider webs, wasp nests, and mud daubers along the roofline up to 20 feet. It’ll cover dozens of pests, including fire ants, earwigs, moths, and non-venomous spiders (the full list is available online). Additionally, you’ll get priority scheduling and free return services to ensure quick, effective pest control. If you upgrade to an ECO-Friendly Pest Protection Plan , you’ll get bi- monthly services with all the same perks, except we’ll use essential oil-based products — meaning it’s even safer for you and your

family, especially if you have family members with chemical allergies. Of course, there’s also our Mosquito Reduction Program , a monthly service from March to October when we’ll inspect potential problem areas for mosquito breeding and treat your landscape, foliage, and trees (which often kills other types of pests as well). While these plans can save you plenty of money and offer peace of mind, no plan can save you more time, money, and effort than our monthly Termite Control Plan (which can bundle with any of the other plans). After we had an extremely bad freeze in Texas last winter, many homeowners had their home’s pipes burst and had to do a lot of remodeling work. Unfortunately, many also uncovered irreversible termite damage that would cost them many more thousands of dollars in treatments and reconstruction. Many people don’t discover termites until it’s too late. That’s because, in Texas, nearly 95% of our region’s termites are subterranean, which means they come from under the soil and into the foundations of a home. They can live in a home completely undetected for years, and we see this in our line of work all the time. With such high potential costs on the line, I can’t recommend regular termite protection enough. Thank you so much for your support of EcoArmor and reading our newsletters! Although this will be our last edition for now, we’ve really enjoyed sharing our personal stories from our lives and the Hopewell family. I can’t thank you enough for the kind feedback we’ve gotten. Have a wonderful start of your fall, and we look forward to serving you again soon.

GOODBYE, SHOE CHAOS! 3 Storage Ideas That Will Save You From Tripping

It's that time of year again: The kids are charging inside, kicking off their shoes wherever they please, and tearing into the house! If you've already tripped over a dozen pairs of sneakers, it’s time to create and enforce a better shoe storage solution. Here are three functional and attractive methods to try. 1. THE DIY PVC PIPE SHOE CUBBY This shoe storage project is all the rage on Pinterest! It turns out that when you cut a large PVC pipe into sections, paint them your preferred color(s), and glue them together with PVC glue, the honeycomb effect looks both fun and elegant. You can try this in your mudroom or in your kids’ rooms to make putting away their shoes feel like a game. Check out the video “PVC Pipe Shoe Rack” by Home Made Simple

in pockets for shoes. Many can hold up to 36 pairs!

Best of all, when they’re hanging on the back of your mudroom or closet

door, your shoes will be both easy to access and tucked out of sight. You can find affordable

racks on Amazon.com for less than $10 or fancier models at Walmart for under $20.

3. THE HANGING CLOSET ‘SHOE FILE’ Speaking of closets, the “shoe file” is the perfect storage solution for a coat closet or any other closet near your main door. Instead of hanging on the door, this pocket-filled organizer cascades from a hanger! Many of the pockets are conveniently located at eye level; you can load up your closet with as many files as you need, and each file can hold up to 18 pairs of shoes. ContainerStore.com sells elegant shoe files starting at $12.99.

on YouTube for a step-by-step guide to building a floor rack or Instructables.com for tips on mounting your rack to the wall.

2. THE OVER-THE-DOOR SHOE BAG If you don’t have the floor space for a traditional shoe rack, consider investing in an over-the-door shoe bag. These fabric, clear plastic, or upscale mesh bags hook over the top of a door and are covered

MEET THE VOICE OF ECOARMOR

SANDY, THE GIRL BEHIND THE FRONT DESK PHONE

Very often, we get compliments on our one- and-only Sandy — and as a current customer, there’s a good chance you’ve already met her! As a superbly helpful, timely, and courteous individual, Sandy helps our customers schedule their appointments, manages billing, and assists with any type of concern you might have. To celebrate Labor Day, we knew we had to feature her, because — everyone agrees, technicians and customers alike — she’s been absolutely awesome at her job. In fact, she was already familiar with the field despite it being her first job in the industry. “My husband worked the first 5–6 years of our marriage in [the] pest control [industry,]” Sandy shared with us. “Before QuickSumo, I was a stay- at-home mom for seven years. This was my first job back.” That was more than a year ago until QuickSumo merged into EcoArmor, where she remained an awesome asset to our team. The most rewarding part of her job? The customers! “It’s rewarding getting to know the customer, since they are recurring — the relationship you get along with them is great.” As a family-owned local business, the owners are very family-oriented, which has been a huge help for Sandy as a busy mom, too.

Having a husband who was in the pest control industry didn’t prevent Sandy from being surprised by the things she learned, though. “Ants are one thing that I’ve learned the most about,” she said. It was shocking: If the ants live in one pile and you threaten that pile without killing the queen, the ants will create 5–6 piles to confuse you and protect the queen. Every bug isn’t just a bug! They’re smart, too." Beyond work, Sandy loves spending time with family. Married for 23 years, she has a 22-year-old and a 16-year- old daughter. They’re all very close and practically best friends. “We do a lot of hanging out,” she shared with a laugh. They also have six pets! When Sandy isn’t watching her youngest daughter play sports, she spends time regularly with extended family, who live only 20 minutes away.

Thanks so much, Sandy, for everything you do! Your hard work and attention to detail are crucial to our success at EcoArmor, and we really appreciate you.

As mentioned in our cover article, there's no question that termites rank at or near the top of any "Most Expensive Pest" list. Termites never sleep and never stop eating and cause damage the whole time. For this reason, a termite infestation that's allowed to exist for too long can cause severe problems for your home or commercial property, and it’s very costly to repair. LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR TERMITE CONTROL PLAN

The two main problems caused by termites are either structural damage or cosmetic damage. While structural damage might be covered by insurance, it's not guaranteed.

Unfortunately, even large colonies can go undetected for years due to their habits. For this reason, the best home pest control defense against a termite infestation is professional treatment centered on ongoing inspection and prevention. Here’s how we get started.

First, we'll begin with our comprehensive inspection before getting to work on treatment. During the inspection, we'll look over the entire home, keeping an eye out for active termites, signs of termites, and conducive conditions. After the inspection is complete, we'll get started on treatment. During this step, we'll place Sentricon® Always Active bait stations around the perimeter of the home. If we find that you have an

DIRECTIONS

Part of successful termite prevention is to know the tips and tricks needed to better prevent infestations. Some of our most effective tips include:

1. Sprinkle chicken with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper. Set aside. 2. In a small bowl, combine apple cider and mustard. Set aside. 3. In a large skillet over medium heat, warm 2 tsp olive oil. When shimmering, add chicken thighs top-side down. Cook for 4 minutes, then flip and cook for 4 more minutes. Transfer to a plate and cover with foil. Wipe the skillet clean. 4. Heat the remaining oil in the skillet, then add sliced apples, remaining salt and pepper, and rosemary. Cook for 5 minutes. 5. Return the chicken to the skillet and add apple cider-mustard mixture. Cook for 5 minutes, then serve sprinkled with rosemary!

TESTIMONIAL

"When I first closed on my house and was cleaning before we moved in, we saw (and killed) a black widow on our back patio. Our new neighbors said that is somewhat usual for our area and recommended Jordan with EcoArmor (which is now merged with QuickSumo and still amazing). We've been using them for over two years now. Their service has made us and our five 10-pound dogs feel safe! We saw another black widow on our patio only once since then, and it was already dead. Their products are eco-friendly, too, which is great since we and the dogs are home all day now with the changes 2020 brought. We don't have to worry about smelling the freshly applied product if we happen to be near the treatment area or a poorly sealed window. Josh was the latest to treat our home and is very professional." –Sara
