Happy Birthday, Mason Technologies!

Halloween is always the sweetest time of year here at Mason, especially because it marks Mason Technologies birthday! Our company’s incorporation (2002) plus two subsequent milestone acquisitions (Applied Sound Co. in 2012, and G-Systems in 2022) all coincide with the week of Halloween of their respective years. This festive season reflects the heart of Mason Technologies: a place where all are welcome and celebrated. It’s a spirit we embody in our daily operations, and our offices are always filled with the laughter, joy, and literal bowls of candy that this time of year brings.

A Medley of #MasonMoments:

October marked Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and some members of the #MasonFamily proudly wore pink to honor those fighting, surviving, and supporting loved ones affected by breast cancer. It’s a reminder that compassion, courage, and unity are part of what defines the Mason Way — standing together, stronger, every step of the way.

Our Cat6 cables aren’t the only things that come in fun colors. Some members of the #MasonFamily turned up the volume and showed their true colors at the Chappell Roan concert at Forest Hills — proving that teamwork, pride, and self-expression shine just as bright off the job site as they do on it. Have you heard? We’ve officially kicked off the Mason Technologies “Step It Up” Steps Challenge at our headquarters. Perfect timing after Halloween and before Thanksgiving! Points are scored for 10k, 15k, and 20k+ steps a day. Stay tuned for our next newsletter where we’ll highlight the winner and celebrate everyone’s commitment to healthier habits!

Our Southeast #MasonFamily attended The Real Deal Miami Forum recently, connecting with Florida’s leading developers to discuss how Mason Technologies Inc. helps ensure their new builds are supported by innovative, future- ready technology infrastructure.

Some of the funny and creative Halloween costumes throughout our headquarters. Whether it's on a project site or in the office, the #MasonFamily is always pouring passion into everything we do.

Mason Technologies Case Study University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville

The Ask When the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville needed to upgrade their lecture spaces, they didn’t just want bigger screens, they wanted a solution that would redefine the experience for their faculty and students, and they wanted a partner who would listen to their needs, be dependable, great to work with, and get the job done right. They were looking for Mason. Their goal: replace outdated projectors and screens with cutting-edge 4K DirectView LED walls that would deliver crystal-clear visuals in even the brightest environments and elevate the learning and teaching experience for both faculty and students. Our Approach This wasn’t about pushing an expensive, off-the-shelf option. It was about delivering the right technology, at the right value, with the right long-term impact. For the DirectView LED, Mason Technologies brought in one of our trusted vendor partners, Pensar, as a cost-effective yet high-performing and world-class alternative to other industry giants. Backed by our 23+ years of integration expertise and our commitment to transparency, we designed a system that met every technical requirement without the unnecessary markup you’d expect from a “big-box” integrator. And because we’re Mason, we didn’t stop at the display. We recognized that the audio system was holding back the room. Our team proactively replaced 84 aging Clock Audio table microphones in the Lecture Hall with new, low-profile Clock Audio units, removing the clunky under-table gear that had long frustrated faculty. The Result The result is nothing short of transformational. Faculty and students now engage with high- resolution, ultra-bright displays that bring lessons to life. The new microphones provide a clean, professional audio experience free of the frustrations that plagued the old setup. The project wasn’t without challenges– many of the original mics had suffered beverage damage and required custom cable fabrication. But that’s where Mason’s decades of experience came through. We put in the hours, solved the problems, and delivered the finished product on time. Today, the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville has a lecture environment that rivals the best in the country. And they didn’t just get an integrator; they got a partner. A partner who brings the #MasonWay to every job: transparency & reliability, masterful craftsmanship, and future-ready solutions that last. Mason Technologies Joins the Charleston Metro Chamber Leadership Circle

Mason Technologies is proud to announce our acceptance into the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Circle (Silver Tier) — a community of forward-thinking organizations committed to driving economic growth, innovation, and opportunity across the Lowcountry. As one of the oldest and most influential chambers in the nation, the Charleston Metro Chamber serves more than 1,600 member businesses and organizations spanning Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties. Through advocacy, workforce development, and regional partnerships, the Chamber plays a vital role in shaping the future of business in South Carolina. Joining the Leadership Circle strengthens Mason’s connection to the region as we continue expanding our low-voltage, audiovisual, and security integration services throughout the Carolinas. This partnership will help Mason build stronger relationships with local businesses, education systems, and government organizations, while contributing to initiatives that foster growth and innovation within the community. We’re excited to collaborate with the Chamber’s network of leaders and play our part in advancing the Charleston region — the Mason Way.

TRADE SHOWS TRADE SHOWS TRADE SHOWS

Big thanks to Stony Brook University for hosting Mason Technologies Inc. at their Vendor Community Fair ! We’re proud to work alongside HigherEd leaders who push innovation forward, and it was great to spend the day sharing the new solutions and services Mason brings to campus life. Partnerships like these are what define the #MasonWay.

For the second year in a row Mason Technologies attended the Nassau County Small Business & M/WBE Business Expo hosted by the Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs . Our team members loved connecting (and reconnecting) with the other local businesses in attendance to discuss partnership opportunities, and celebrate the business we’ve done together this past year.

Faces of Mason Dave Bryenton Director of I.T.

Mason Technologies is thrilled to welcome Dave Bryenton as our new Director of IT. Dave joins the Mason Family with a long track record of solving complex technical challenges and helping teams work smarter through the right use of technology. Before joining Mason, Dave spent nearly 12 years with a managed service provider in Connecticut, where he supported organizations of all sizes and learned the ins and outs of what keeps systems efficient and secure. He later launched his own IT business upstate, building a reputation for reliability, resourcefulness, and genuine care for his clients. At Mason, Dave will lead efforts to modernize our internal systems and strengthen the digital foundation that supports every department. He will be rebuilding and optimizing PCs, refining workflows, and ensuring that our software and systems operate at peak performance to keep our teams connected and productive. Dave will also be spearheading Mason’s new Managed Services (MSP) and Cybersecurity Division, expanding how we support clients and enhancing the protection, monitoring, and long-term stability of their environments. More details on these offerings will be shared soon. Those who have already met Dave know he brings a calm presence, a quick wit, and a love for helping people make technology work for them rather than against them. When he is not optimizing networks, you might find him behind a keyboard, guitar, bass, or drum kit — sometimes all in one session, and occasionally singing (though, as he admits, not always remembering the words). And for anyone looking for timeless IT wisdom, Dave offers this free advice to our network: “Unplug it, then plug it back in.” We’re excited to have Dave on board, bringing his expertise and personality to Mason Technologies as we continue to grow and strengthen our operations. Welcome to the Mason Family, Dave.

It was a memorable first experience at SC EdTech Conference 2025 in Myrtle Beach, SC . Mason got to show off our solutions and capabilities to a new market and even took home the “Best in Show” award for our booth design ! This was our first time attending the event, and we set out to make a splash, curating a booth fit for the conference’s “Buried Treasure” theme. From the design to the demos, our crew went all-in. Huge thanks to our Mason247 team, our incredible vendor co-sponsors ( Newline Interactive, Pensar LED, AtlasIED, Black Box, & Pelco ) and all the attendees who stopped by to talk Education Technology, learn about our brand, and enter our raffle. We loved showing South Carolina’s education leaders how Mason’s technology solutions can help their schools and classrooms chart a new course for innovation. The treasure? Seeing the excitement on attendees faces when they realized what’s possible when they partner with Mason Technologies. Mason finds the treasure! Reflecting on our debut at the South Carolina EdTech ‘25 Conference

Shout out to Karen Warman, Ryan Doolan, Paul Bench, Ray Hughes [MASON], Lauren Berry [Newline Interactive], Daniel Rucerito [Pensar LED], Erik Zvanut [Black Box], Jake Enderline [Pelco], & Michael Yonks [AtlasIED] – for representing our brands at the conference. THE MONTHLY

FUNNIES OF JIM DERBY

Derby Dad Jokes...

I applied for a job hanging mirrors ...It’s something I can see myself doing… The bank just called and gave me the biggest compliment …they said my balance is outstanding. I really needed that today. At the airport, my friend suggested we disguise ourselves as luggage. ...I said “Let’s not get carried away” My wife handed me two kayak paddles and asked “Which one do you want?” ...I said “I’d take either oar” Deep Thought: ...When you clean out a vacuum cleaner you become a vacuum cleaner. Don’t be mad at lazy people ...they didn’t do anything. 85% of Americans don’t know how to do basic math. ...Thank God I’m part of the other 25%. A PA man is suing Smart Water for not making him smarter. ...I would like to formally announce my lawsuit against Thin Mints. Next week is Diarrhea Awareness Week. ...Runs ‘til Friday…

My November goal is to be less condescending. ...(Condescending means to talk down to people)
