Construction Update: Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center
Exciting progress is underway at the Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center site as construction crews continue working on the transformation of this highly anticipated community destination. While the project is advancing steadily, the timeline for opening will depend on both weather and construction progress. At this point, our goal remains to welcome the community by mid-summer 2026. Exact opening dates and available features will be shared closer to completion as progress allows. When complete, the new aquatic complex will complete the Sycamore Trails property and feature:
• A large main pool with plenty of room for swimming, lounging, and community use. This pool includes a zero-depth entry, several floatable/climbable elements for the kids to enjoy, a dedicated in-water basketball/volleyball ‘court,’ and 3 new slides! • A spacious 8-lane lap pool, with diving board and zip- line. Whether you’re a swimmer training for endurance, a kid joining the swim team, or simply someone who enjoys a calm lane for exercise, the lap pool has something for everyone! • A 3-lane exercise pool that is designed with flexibility in mind. It will host water fitness classes, provide space for aquatic therapy, and serve as a versatile option for swimmers who want a balance of recreation and exercise. Its accessible depth and design make it a valuable addition for people of all ages.
• T he kiddie pool will feature a gentle, zero-depth entry perfect for introducing toddlers and young children to the water. With safe play structures and plenty of shallow space, it will give parents peace of mind while little ones discover the fun of swimming. • R ounding out the complex is the splash pad, which opened in 2023, which features fountains, sprayers, and interactive water features. It’s the ultimate spot for carefree play, cooling off on a hot day, and family fun without needing to dive into deeper water. • E xpanded deck space and shaded areas for relaxation and comfort. • U pgraded support facilities including new bathhouses and concessions to enhance the overall experience.
This new facility will be more than a place to swim—it will be a destination where neighbors gather, families make memories and community spirit thrives. New Columbarium at Hillgrove Union Cemetery
Hillgrove Union Cemetery has added a new columbarium to provide families with another meaningful option for memorializing loved ones. The columbarium offers a dignified and lasting place for the inurnment of cremated remains, serving the needs of the community today and for generations to come.
This addition reflects the Cemetery’s ongoing commitment to preserving the beauty and history of Hillgrove while ensuring families have modern choices for remembrance. Each new vault cost $1,750. For more information, call the cemetery at (937) 866-2263.
