Miamisburg Hires Five New Police Officers
The City of Miamisburg swore in five new police officers. (L-R) Officers Evan Planck, Nate Whitman, Caleb Burke, Aaron Dufresne and Christine Sorrell were all sworn in at a regular City Council meeting on November 4. Officer Sorrell is currently conducting road patrol duties within the city, while the other new hires are attending the police academy.
Police Cruisers Debut New Look
The city’s police fleet is getting a fresh new look! New patrol vehicles are being wrapped with updated graphics and branding, courtesy of Performance Wraps in Miamisburg.
The Miami Valley Fire District has recently expanded its fleet by adding two new ambulances. Both vehicles are 2025 Ford F-550 4x4 Diesel Ambulances, manufactured by Horton Emergency Vehicles located in Grove City, Ohio. The price for each ambulance was $338,778. Including all essential equipment, the total for each ambulance amounted to $380,374. One of the ambulances is currently in service at Station 52, 2710 Lyons Road, while the other is stationed at Station 53, located at 10 N. First Street. The ambulances being replaced will be designated to reserve status for deployment when front-line vehicles require maintenance and are temporarily out of service. Parks and Recreation Department Unveils New Bus
The Parks and Recreation Department has added some new wheels to its fleet. They recently bought a 2025 Ford/Starcraft E-350 Super Duty bus that can hold 14 passengers. The bus cost $120,254, plus an additional $6,426 for the wrapping, bringing the total to $126,680. This new ride replaces our old bus, which was 17 years old. With this new bus, we can expand our trip options for the Senior Adult Club and it will also be used during next year’s camp season and for many more years ahead.
