NEW FACES, NEW ENERGY! Meet Our New Team Members!

Aidan Cassidy will oversee the Youth and Family programs at Indian Mounds and Westwood, dividing his time between both sites to support staff, students, and families. He joins us from the Robbinsdale School District, where he served as Assistant Supervisor for the Adventure Club program. Alexis Weber will serve as the Youth and Family Coordinator for Early Learning at Washburn. She comes to us from the Brainerd School District, where she coordinated the Before and After School programs for both preschool and elementary levels across the district. DeAndre Adams joins Bloomington Community Education as the Youth Enrichment Programs Manager. He comes from Eden Prairie Schools, where he supported youth programs, enrichment classes, and community partnerships. In his new role, DeAndre will focus on expanding youth enrichment opportunities and strengthening community connections to support safe and engaging learning environments.

Kids’ SAFARI provides before and after school childcare for all students residing in or attending an elementary school in Bloomington. During the school year, Kids’ SAFARI provides programming for students enrolled in kindergarten through grade 5 on school days and most days where there is no school. During the summer, Kids’ SAFARI provides full-day programming for students entering kindergarten through the completion of grade 5. LITTLE SWIMMER (4 – 5 years old) Requirements for signing your child up for this level: • Recommended participation in a Parent & Child Class • Toilet trained • Able to listen and follow directions for 30 minutes • Child will be okay without parent or guardian in the pool • Able to hold onto wall for 30 minutes These classes provide children with their first pool experience without parental assistance in a safe, fun, and positive learning environment. The primary objective of the Little Swimmers Class is to promote developmentally appropriate learning of fundamental water safety and swimming skills. Instructors help children adapt to the pool and learn how to move independently through the water. Three class level descriptions listed for each level.
