Midwestern Converters Invited To Label Day The organizers of Labelexpo Americas have now opened registration for a dedicated Label & Package Printing Day for midwestern converters and suppli- ers, taking place on Thursday, June 21, inWisconsin. This educational and networking event — which is free for converters — will be hosted at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, and will feature indus- try experts from Labelexpo and several of its indus- try partners.A number of topics connected with this year’s Labelexpo Americas will be covered, alongside the wider label and package printing industry. The agenda for the day will feature five round table discussions focusing on specific themes including new opportunities, technology, automation, digital printing, the environment and workforce development. Tasha Ventimiglia, Event Director for Labelexpo Americas, will share exclusive details of what visitors can expect to see at this year’s show in September. Desmedt Invests In Flexo Wash Technology Belgian label converters Desmedt has invested heavily in a package of cleaning technology manufac- tured by Flexo Wash. The overall investment, which exceeded € 150,000, was part of a major re-organiza- tion of Desmedt’s production capability at its plant in Bornem, close to Brussels. The list of Flexo Wash machines installed at Desmedt includes a PK 200 WR TrolleyLoad Parts Washer, with a small trolley for UV Ink, and a PK ECO Maxi WR Parts Washer for water-based ink. There is an FW 993 XL Anilox Roll Cleaner that handles up to nine rolls per wash, a PK 92 Screen Washer and PW 82 WR Plate Washer. Flexo Wash also installed a PK Filtration Unit that can be used for both the PK 200 and the PW 82 machines.
