Racking is central to the performance, flow, and efficiency of every industrial facility. In most operations, design starts with the racking—then builds around it. That’s why Rain City Racking is involved early, aligning storage systems with layout, infrastructure, and operational needs from day one. BUILT AROUND THE WAY YOU WORK Every industrial business is different. Whether optimizing inventory, packaging, or production flow, the workspace must support the racking system—not the other way around. Our in-house team designs and delivers systems that maximize space, improve handling efficiency, and integrate seamlessly with building constraints and tenant operations. KEY ADVANTAGES • Full-service dealership: design, engineering, permitting, and install • Integrated planning with tenant workflow and base building • Optimized layout for throughput and cubic space utilization • Lifecycle support: reconfiguration, recertification, and relocation
Racking systems aren’t always permanent—and they’re rarely one-size- fits-all. Whether relocating to a new facility or preparing an existing site for turnover, Rain City Racking offers a complete program for removal, recertification, reinstallation, or safe decommissioning. ADAPT YOUR SYSTEM OR CLEAR THE WAY Our in-house team handles certified dismantling, transport, seismic upgrades, and code-aligned reinstallation. When reuse isn’t viable, we manage safe demolition and disposal with strict attention to cleanliness, safety, and schedule. KEY SERVICES • Certified removal, transport, and storage • Structural recertification and re-permitting • Reinstallation aligned with new layout and seismic requirements • Safe demolition and disposal of obsolete systems
Structural racking is built from hot- rolled channel steel for superior strength, durability, and impact resistance. Its bolted beam-to- frame connections offer exceptional load capacity, making it ideal for heavy pallet loads and high-traffic environments. These systems outperform roll-formed alternatives in seismic stability and long-term performance. Engineered to absorb forklift impact and support taller structures, structural racking is the preferred choice for rugged warehousing and demanding industrial settings.
Roll-formed racking is the most commonly used pallet racking system, valued for its versatility, cost- efficiency, and ease of installation. Made from cold-rolled steel with a tear-drop connection, it offers quick adjustability for changing pallet sizes and layouts. While less impact-resistant than structural steel, roll-formed racking is well-suited for light to moderate-duty applications. It’s the preferred option when flexibility, budget, and efficient vertical space utilization are top priorities.
Cantilever racking is ideal for storing long, bulky, or irregularly shaped materials like lumber, steel bars, pipes, and drywall. With open-front access and no vertical obstructions, it simplifies loading and handling of oversized items. These systems provide strong, adjustable support while maximizing horizontal and vertical storage space. By keeping floor areas clear and storage organized, cantilever racking enhances safety, accessibility, and overall warehouse efficiency.
Push-back racking offers high-density storage with quick front access to multiple SKUs. Pallets are loaded onto nested carts that glide along inclined rails—automatically advancing forward as each is removed. Designed for two to five pallet positions deep, and often placed back-to-back, push-back systems maximize cubic space without sacrificing selectivity. This makes them ideal for operations focused on inventory rotation, efficiency, and throughput.
Drive-in racking is engineered for high- density storage, ideal for operations with large volumes and low SKU variety. Forklifts enter the system to place or retrieve pallets on internal rails, eliminating multiple aisles. This last-in, first-out (LIFO) system maximizes capacity and is well-suited for cold storage, bulk storage, and fast-turnover products—offering a cost- effective solution for space-constrained environments.
Roll-out racking provides safe, ergonomic access to heavy tools, dies, fixtures, and materials. Sliding trays extend outward for easy handling, reducing strain and improving workflow. Ideal for manufacturing, fabrication, and maintenance environments, these systems maximize vertical space while enhancing safety and efficiency where frequent access to heavy items is needed.
Gravity-driven pallet and carton flow systems keep inventory moving from load to pick face—ideal for high- throughput operations. Pallet flow supports FIFO rotation, making it well-suited for perishable goods, while carton flow improves split-case picking speed and accuracy. These systems reduce travel time, increase efficiency, and enhance order accuracy, making them a smart choice for fast-moving warehouse environments.
Designed for flexibility and efficiency, industrial shelving systems offer practical storage for small parts, tools, and supplies. Available in a range of sizes and load capacities, they suit warehouses, workshops, and storage rooms. Their modular design supports easy reconfiguration and future expansion— making them a scalable, cost-effective solution for evolving operational needs.
Pick modules and mezzanines are integrated solutions designed to improve space utilization and streamline order fulfillment in high-volume distribution environments. Pick modules combine multi-level racking, conveyors, and shelving to optimize material flow. Mezzanines add usable space above the warehouse floor—enabling cost-effective vertical expansion without major building modifications.
