S ometimes the more you look at it the better a street rod gets, every cool detail you see leads to a nicely executed panel gap, and right on to another cool detail and so on. There is nothing confusing or fancy about this ride other than how well done it is and the AutoTrend EFI. It all just fits together perfectly. Brian DuBoise teamed up with Old Skool Speed Shop to build this fine ’30 Ford coupe you see here. The basic car was bought by Brian’s Uncle Ansel in 1950 for 150 bucks (interesting, it must have been quite nice) and Brian bought the car from his uncle to build as a tribute to Ansel and hot rodding in the ‘50s, but also so that the rod
could be a great driver with just the right amount of modern. The gentlemen at Old Skool started with a ’32 frame prepped by our friends at Pete & Jake’s Hot Rod Parts. The fully boxed chassis is form fitted to the Model A body and features a tubular cross- member support and a kick-up at the rear. The chrome and black powder-coated front suspen- sion is a Super Bell I-beam running Vega cross- steering, Wilwood brakes actuated by a Wilwood master cylinder, P&J hairpins, and a Posies but- ton-end leaf spring. The rear suspension is a Ford 9-inch riding on Aldan coilovers, controlled by P&J hairpins and big Wilwoods for stopping. The
