Leonard ’44 and Helen (Regier ’43) Hanes, Edinburg, Texas: “ Leonard had the responsibility of building the booths for and installing the equipment of the language laboratory for our Missionary Language course. As school opened, the Lord sent us 18 Latin American students and 21 missionary candidates in the lan guage course. W e are somewhat under staffed so far as the teaching responsibili ties (at Rio Grande Bible Institute) go, and the load has been heavy for the 4 main men teachers; but the Lord has enabled and given strength for each day. The radio ministry continues although we lost one station because of inability to pay for the time. The program over the 50,000 watt Corpus Christi station is in doubt also for the same reason.” Maxwell ’36 H. Brenneman and family are serving the Lord in Puerto Rico under The Foreign Missionary Society of the Brethren Church. Frances (Coffman ’22) Ogden is the wife of one of the Trustees of The For eign Missionary Society of the Brethren Church. Geraldine Hinote ’32, ’33: Sudan, A fr ica: “ There are over 25 different sections and dialects of Dinkas, the largest tribe in the Sudan. It was a privilege to visit a tribe of Ngook Dinkas recently. To me this was no mere visit, but the fulfill ment of a deep desire of many years stand ing. They have changed since my earliest contact with them. Now they are friend lier, less proud, more open to progress of every kind. When the missionaries went in among them, many turned to the Lord, and now there are about 300 bap tised believers in that area. It was a deep joy to share in their Communion Service, visit in their homes, look into their eager faces as I taught them the Word, visit in a few villages nearby, and counsel them.” have you remembered the A LUM N I BUILDING PROJECT? Kenneth and Gladys (Wick ’47) Henry, Tokyo, Japan: “Kenneth teaches a Bible class of college students every Wednesday afternoon at Morning Glory Church. One young man’s face was radiant as he con fided to him that he was sure the Lord is calling him to preach the Gospel, either as an evangelist here in his own country or as a missionary to some other Asian country. Living in Tokyo, the world’s

largest city, our contacts are sometimes rather cosmopolitan, but with each there are the opportunity and the responsibility to make Christ known. During the past year I have had the friendship of the wife of an Indian Embassy official living in our neighborhood. W e had tea together sev eral times, with opportunity to speak to her about the Lord. She is a staunch Hin du. Since she has returned to India, I can only pray that there will be others of the Lord’s faithful witnesses there who will continue to present the claims of Christ to her and bring her to salvation. . . Kenneth and I are both trying to improve our lin guistic ability by enrolling in language school. W e spend two full afternoons a week in the language school, and the rest of Kenneth’s time is occupied with the work of the Word of Life Press.” Larry ’55 and Margaret (Boyd ’57) All- mon, Madrid, Spain: “W e are waiting action by TEAM in regard to our applica tion for membership. Meanwhile, we are hoping to continue our language study.” James and Catherine (Callaway ’51) Cook, Brigham, Utah, are working with the Pioneer Bible Mission, in ministering mainly to Navajo people. They have had good meetings, but attendance has lagged with the boys. James went to Pocatello, Idaho, four times to help a new mission ary couple get started with a new Bible Church. They ask prayer for all phases of their work, including the radio work. Sylvia Arnold ’51,

Tuba City, Arizona, is attending language school in Cortez, Colo rado, and will later go to Illinois for de putation work. George ’50 and Joan

(Barber ’50) Brough ton, on furlough from Brazil, have travelled 30,000 miles for de putation. Their main prayer request has Sylvia Arnold
