What Can Schools Do?
While there is no way to stop bad actors from creating deepfakes, there are some steps schools can take to protect their students and staff from the effects of deepfakes. Educate The adults and children involved in your schools need to know what deepfakes are and that the material they see online may not be what is seems. Encourage “Think before you share or act” is an important message that stresses people to stop and consider if the material they’re seeing is true before they share it with others or react inappropriately.
Develop Schools need policies and procedures that address the creation and use of deepfakes to slander or spread misinformation.
