As part of a year-long celebration of HudsonAlpha’s 15th anniversary year, the Institute opened its doors for a series of free public events. Over 3,500 people attended our 15th Anniversary Series events! The series included a variety of new and exciting events, including a research update from HudsonAlpha President Dr. Neil Lamb and a special guest speaker seminar featuring Eric Green, MD, PhD, Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute at the NIH. Events like Tiny Genes, Big Effects and Transformative Technologies shared the Institute’s global impact on plant genomics and biotech entrepreneurship respectively. HudsonAlpha launched a new public education program, HudsonAlpha U , which was presented to audiences both in Huntsville and throughout Alabama’s Wiregrass region.
