To support students’ academic success and career goals, IUJ offers two language programs through the Center for Language Education and Research (CLEAR): English and Japanese. Language Programs (CLEAR)
The English Program includes a wide range of courses to build academic, business, and practical English skills. Highlights include the Intensive English Program (IEP) for incoming students and professionals, as well as specialized courses in academic writing, research, and professional communication. English Program The Japanese Program provides structured instruction from beginner to advanced levels. Emphasis is placed on communication skills and discussion of specialized topics. Business Japanese and an annual student presentation event are also offered. In addition, the program places a strong emphasis on supporting students in passing the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). Students are encouraged to learn basic Japanese prior to arrival.
