Banking and daily cash collection policy: 1. The Boutique Manager is responsible for placing the cash in a sealed plastic bag, along with denomination break down at daily closing time. The sales cash, float and petty cash need to be kept in separate envelopes in the safe. 2. The collection driver should count the cash and sign the register with his name and time of cash pick-up. If the driver is not able to pick up the cash sales, the money needs to be kept for another day in the safe. 3. Cash collection slip needs to be filled in with necessary details and both parties (retail team members and the driver) should sign on the slip. A scanned copy needs to be sent along with the daily DSR.

4. The employee cannot take the cash deposit out of the Boutique.

5. Cheque details from corporate customers need to be communicated with the Accounts Department and a hardcopy must be sent to them.

Identifying false currencies:

Any employee handling cash must check the accepted notes through the currency detector machine. If false notes have been accepted, the employee concerned will be held responsible.

Cash till discrepancy:

An unexplained cash discrepancy is defined as any variance that cannot be corrected within same day. A cash discrepancy can be related to credit card, cash shortage and currency. Bateel has established standards for disciplinary action related to cash handling, in accordance with our HR policies.
