8.2 Evacuation Procedure

Evacuation plan:

Emergency evacuation is the urgent, immediate escape of people away from an area that contains an imminent threat, an ongoing threat or a hazard to lives or property. It is the duty of the Boutique Manager to ensure that a copy of the evacuation plan is visible on the Boutique premises. The team need to be fully aware of the exit routes and assembly points.

Evacuation procedure in case of a fire

Don’ts

Press the nearest fire alarm button if the alarm has not sound and stay calm Leave the building by the nearest exist using the stairs. Proceed to the fire assembly point.

Panic

Use the lift.

Follow the instructions at the assembly point.

Walk away from the assembly point

Remain at your assembly point until you have been given the instructions to return to the building by your fire marshal.

Return to the building until authorized to do so.
