Unit 15
Round the house Coconut leaves have many uses in the house. We can use the spines to make yard brooms. We use the fronds to make mats, sunshades and hats. We can even use them to make the roof of a house. We can burn the husk and shell to make a hot fire. The smoke keeps mosquitoes away. U sing the shell People make lots of things from coconut shells. Children make toy boats. People also use the shells to make cups, bowls and jewellery. Oil The meat can be pressed to produce oil. The oil can be used for cooking and for burning in lamps.
