Language: nouns that show possession
When something belongs to a person, animal or thing, we usually put ’ s after the name of the person to whom it belongs. Samuel ’ s drum the horse ’ s tail
1 Rewrite these sentences, adding the ’ in the correct place.
1 Mama Rosas bread was very tasty. 2 The mans horse was old. 3 The potters baby was hungry. 4 Samuels drum was big.
5 The birds beak was long. 6 The boys heart was kind. 7 Moms keys are here. 8 The teachers bag is green.
2 Look at the pictures. Use ’s to show who owns each of these things.
