Language: owning things
These words are possessive adjectives : my your his her our their They tell us who owns a thing. They go before a noun. These are our kites. That is their kite.
• Question 1: Pupils have to ‘think and search’. The answer lies in the words ‘ join my kite ’. ( Answer: c ) • Question 3: The poem rhymes, has none of the features of instructions and does not tell us how to do anything. • Speaking and listening: Read aloud instructions from the Listening Texts, page 139. • The game ‘Simon Says’ is a fun way of checking pupils’ ability to follow spoken instructions.
