Language Verbs
Words that tell us what people do are called verbs . chase and jump are verbs.
I play football in the playground.

5 What other things do you do? Write lots of verbs. 1 What do you do on the beach?
2 What do you do at home? 3 What do you do at church?
• Exercise 2: Pupils can add their own words from Exercise 1. • Extension: One pupil writes two nouns, e.g. pen , bucket , without showing their partner. Their partner writes two verbs, e.g. fell , sang . Together they use the four words in two sentences, e.g. The pen fell off the table. The bucket sang a song . Sentences must have a capital letter and a full stop.
