beginning
He hopped on and off stones. He swam underwater. He was happy. Then, one day, he saw a heron. The heron was tall and graceful. “I want to walk on two legs like the heron,” said the frog to his mother. “You can’t walk on two legs,” she answered. “You are a frog. Frogs hop.” “But I don’t want to hop. I want to walk like the heron.” “The heron can’t swim like you,” said his mother. “And the heron is grey. You are bright, beautiful green.” Little Frog wasn’t listening. He was trying to walk on his back legs. First, he fell on his tummy. Next, he fell on his back. “I can’t do it,” cried Little Frog. “No,” said his mother. “You can’t walk like a heron because you are a frog – a beautiful, bright green frog.”
