Word work: suffixes A suffix is a letter or group of letters added to the end of a word to change its meaning. ‘y’, ‘ed’ and ‘ing’ are suffixes . rain + y = rainy rain + ed = rained rain + ing = raining

1 Add ‘y’ to the end of these words to make new words.

2 Make as many new words as you can by adding suffixes to the verbs. Example: brush è brushing
