8 Rewrite this story in the past tense.
Danny and Kim want to play football. They grab a ball. Kim kicks it high. It drops into a bush. They race after it. They search for the ball. Then Danny spots it.
• Point out to pupils that the verbs that double the final letter in the past tense are the same verbs that double the last letter when you add ‘ing’.
