The answers to some questions are right there in the text. Sometimes you have to think and search . Sometimes the answer is in your own head .

• Reading comprehension: The answers to Questions 1, 2 and 3 are ‘ right there ’. Pupils have to think and search to find answers to Questions 4 and 5. The answer to Question 6 is in the pupil’s head. • For more on question–answer relationships, see teacher’s note, page 31. • Question 5: Encourage pupils to look for context clues . We are told that Granny ‘looked very tired’ and then ‘she smiled and nodded’. Answer: Granny’s face changed from looking tired to looking happy.
