Word work: homophones
Some words sound the same but are spelt differently and have different meanings. They are called homophones . Would you like to sit here ? Can you hear me?
1 Find the two words in each sentence which are homophones. 1 I can’t hear you from here. 2 Their books are over there on the table. 3 I know there is no milk in the fridge. 4 Please write on the right hand page.
2 Choose the correct word to complete these sentences. 1 I have four / for hats. 2 I wear my best hat four / for church. 3 This sum / some is difficult. 4 Sum / Some of my friends live by the lake. 5 We swam in the see / sea .
